Client’s Brief
À Dire Vrai provides public speaking coaching services. It relies on personalized, benevolent support and listening to the person..
As in the theatre, the relationship with the other is put forward and allows the person to come out of each speaking experience enhanced.
À Dire Vrai wanted a logo with an icon in addition to its name and tagline.
The mission was to create a logo that would be elegant while evoking authenticity and dynamism.
Concepts
Over the course of my drawings, I realised that the initials ADV were a solid ground to build a monogram-type icon. However, I also explored the idea of the lotus which can symbolize eloquence, associated with a microphone evoking public speaking.
The following three concepts were therefore presented.
My Solution
Almost at once, the client opted for the 3rd concept.
The 1st concept was shaped to illustrate a step forward leading to takeoff.
But the 3rd concept organized the letters A, D and V to evoke the crossroads of the word and the person seeking help. This concept pleased the client more for its stylized, clear, clean and balanced shape.
For the name, I chose an elegant typeface to contrast with and to bring a kind of softness to the angular shape of the icon.
To remind further that it’s all about speech, I used a quotation mark inside the stylized D. A British racing green-like –elegant and soothing– has also been applied to this same D shape.
A favicon was also designed based on the icon. With three of the corners missing, it was important to set the icon slightly off to the right.
At last, a banner was created for the YouTube channel, based on the website’s hero section image.
Testimonial
“Anne Jannier has gone with me through the logo design process for my business.
Thanks to being a good listener, she manages to combine your ideas with her own suggestions.
In addition, she is well organised and provides you with a step-by-step road map and regular updates, so you know where you are going and where you are at.
This way, your initial idea gets enriched and is smoothly transformed into reality.”
